The 7 Bridges archive is an ongoing autobiographical work consisting of photography, video, text and other archived materials dating back to 1977.

Chapter 1: Awakening
Chapter 2: Interior
Chapter 3: Exterior
Chapter 4: Rebellion
Chapter 5: Contradiction
Chapter 6: Re-awakening
Chapter 7: Intersection

The 7 Bridges concept takes its inspiration from the pioneering topological work of the 18th Century Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler. Euler discovered that the seven bridges over the rivers intersecting Konigsberg could not all be crossed without passing over one of them twice. Since 2004 I have used this as a starting point to explore points of intersection and contradiction in my own life – both physical (the convoluted maze-like inner-city housing estates and country lanes where I grew up) and metaphorical (ideas and experiences that I have revisited, deliberately or by chance, from a new or changed perspective).
